EA Sports has released a mobile version of its popular soccer game, FIFA 12, for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The game features more than 500 authentic teams and 32 licensed stadiums from 22 official leagues from around the world, including the English Premiership, La Liga and MLS. FIFA 12 introduces a new Manager Mode, improved controls, updated teams, and reworked animations. Cisco will launch free iPad, iPhone video app

Cisco is set to launch a free iPad and iPhone video app in late October, according to ComputerWorld. The free app will allow users of Cisco's Show and Share software to upload, view, and exchange videos with each other.

Show and Share, which is currently available on some Android tablets, allows enterprise customers to create highly secure personalized video communities. In these personalized "YouTubes," companies can share ideas from around the world by allowing employees to create and upload videos that other employees in the same communities can view.

In the desktop version of Show and Share, users are able to edit video they record before uploading it and also add transcripts to it. There's no word yet if any basic editing or transcription capabilities will be available in the iPad or iPhone versions of Show and Share.

HP to offer new firmware update to enable cloud printing

HP will begin implementing a worldwide firmware update to select LaserJet and multi-function printer (MFP) models to enable wireless network printing from mobile devices as well as connect to HP's cloud service and print remotely. The update will add to the number of models accessible by the iOS feature AirPrint, which allows devices running iOS 4.2 or later the ability to print from selected apps and native programs to AirPrint-enabled HP printers....

10.7: Make Front Row work with iTunes 10.4

Sadly, Apple's decided to not include the popular Front Row with OS X Lion.

When Lion was released, it was found that you could install Front Row on Lion and it worked fine. That is, until Apple released iTunes 10.4, which changed the iTunes library format, so even if you installed Front Row, it couldn't see your iTunes content.

Here is how you can get Front Row working on Lion with the latest iTunes:

Install Front Row Enabler for Lion -- you can find a package installation at the very bottom of this link, under Attachments. You'll need to reboot after installing.
Make sure 'Share my library on my local network' is turned on in iTunes preferences.
To try this out once, run dns-sd as described in this post, using the command: ...

Apple pulls iPod clickwheel games from iTunes Store

Apple has silently dropped access to an "iPod Click Wheel Games" section on the iTunes Store, AppleInsider notes. Until this week, it was possible to get to the section via a drop-down menu for the App Store. Apple began selling games for clickwheel iPods in 2006, but they were quickly eclipsed two years later with the introduction of the App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch....
